Icklesham Casuals Football Club - 75th Anniversary Photograph - Icklesham Recreation Ground 11.09.2011

75th Anniversary Celebrations
Season 2011-12 will be the club’s seventy-fifth and initial discussions have taken place on how to mark this occasion. There are few other clubs locally at our level who have a similar history so to recognise the achievement and to share the celebrations with as many past and present members as well as friends of the club as possible it has been decided to hold a series of events throughout the year. A timetable is shown below which will give an idea of what is planned. Further details will be added to the website once these have been finalised and confirmed.
A revised timetable of events is shown below.

11th September 2011
The 75th Anniversary photograph was taken at Icklesham Recreation Ground which included past and present members from every decade of the Clubs history.
17th December 2011
The Christmas Raffle in the Queens Head, Icklesham raised the excellent sum of £375 with all proceeds going to the charity fund raising.
3rd April 2012
The Club was officially founded at a meeting on the 3rd April 1937 at Thompson’s Tea Rooms in Rye. It is planned to mark this day.
16th June 2012
Afternoon football match(es) at Icklesham Recreation Ground and evening buffet in the Lodge at Winchelsea with guest speakers George Cooke MBE who played 174 games in goal for the Club between 1961 and 1970 and who later became a Director of Middlesbrough Football Club and Steve Beale, the former first team captain, who made nearly 500 appearances between 1973 and 2009.
The afternoon events will begin at 2 p.m. with a football match against Rye Old Scholars Association which will commemorate the Clubs very first match with Rye Old Grammarians which took place on the 11th September 1937. This will be followed by an inter-club friendly. It is aimed to complete the matches by around 5.30 p.m. with the evening reunion commencing at 7.30 p.m.
25th June 2012
Golf Event - 75 holes in a day a charity fund raiser. This will start at Sedlescombe Golf Course where 39 holes will be played with a first tee-off time of 4 a.m.! The remaining 36 holes will be played at the Weald of Kent Golf Course where tee times of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. have been booked. Following successful completion (hopefully!) of the challenge there will be a curry buffet at the Weald of Kent Course where people are welcome to join us but we would appreciate prior notice of attendance so we can confirm numbers with the course.
21st September 2012
Formal Dinner to be held at The Lodge Winchelsea which will bring year of celebration to a conclusion.
